CINNAMON ROLLS

INGREDIENTS

For the dough:

- 1 cup (240ml) of milk
- 1 packet of active dry yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons or 14g)
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 cup (75g) of melted butter
- 1/2 cup (100g) of white granulated sugar
- 3 ½ cup (420g) of all-purpose flour

For the filling

- 1/3 cup (75g) of melted butter
- 1 cup (200g) of brown sugar
- 1/4 cup (80g) of cinnamon (more or less depending how do you like them)

For the icing

- 1 ¼ cup (200g) of powdered sugar
- 3 tablespoons (45g) of cream cheese
- Vanilla extract (optional)
- Water until you reach the desire consistency

INSTRUCTIONS

1) Mix warm milk with sugar, yeast and 1 tablespoon of flour, leave it to rest for 10 minutes until you see some bubbles or a slight growth, that means that your yeast is alive!

2) Add the rest of the flour, 2 eggs, the melted butter and the sugar, mix until combined and place the dough onto a large bowl. Let it rest for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until it is doubled in size.

3) After you take it out of the bowl and punch it once and place it on a floured working surface. With a rolling pin shape it into a rectangle and approximately 1 inch thick.

4) Time to do the filling! Melt the ¾ cup (75g) of butter and spread it over the shaped dough with a brush (or you can even make it with your fingers). Mix the brown sugar with the cinnamon and sprinkle it on top of the dough.

5) Now that you filled the dough, start rolling your dough from one end to the other so that you get a tube shape. With a sharp bladed knife cut it into small pieces of the size that you want, you should get 15 medium sized cinnamon rolls.

6) Place the cinnamon rolls on a baking sheet and let them rest for 30 minutes, on that time preheat the oven at 350°F (180°C).

7) After the 30 minutes went by put your cinnamon rolls in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes until they get golden brown on the top. Let them cool for at least 20 minutes before adding the icing.

8) For the icing mix powdered sugar with cream cheese and water until you get your desired consistency (it can be more or less thick depending on what you like), you can also add a little bit of vanilla extract for more flavor. Once it is done spread it on top of your cinnamon rolls and enjoy!
